What is covered by this declaration?
This accessibility declaration exclusively relates to those components of the Procurios platform that enable our customers to offer digital services to consumers. This includes functionalities such as webshops, paid registration forms, and online memberships, insofar as they fall under the application of the European Accessibility Act.
Custom components such as client-specific website templates or functionality developed upon request fall outside the scope of this declaration. The responsibility for the accessibility of these components lies with the customer. Of course, we are happy to advise on how these components can be designed to be as accessible as possible.
What are the accessibility standards?
We follow the WCAG 2.1 guidelines at level AA, as intended in European legislation. This means services must be:
- Perceivable (think of color contrast, subtitles, alternative texts);
- Operable with different tools, such as keyboard or screen reader;
- Understandable in structure and language use;
- Robust in construction, so they work with modern browsers and assistive technologies.
Testing methods
We assess the accessibility of the platform through:
- Automated audit tools (such as Wave and Lighthouse)
- Manual tests with keyboard and built-in screen reader
- Internal checklist based on WCAG 2.1 AA
Accessibility status
Our platform follows WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility standards. In preparation for the European Accessibility Act, we've implemented key improvements:
- Enhanced form accessibility: Required fields now announce "Required field" to screen readers instead of relying solely on visual asterisks
- Improved notifications: Critical messages automatically gain screen reader focus for immediate attention
- Consistent image descriptions: Alternative text works uniformly across all contexts, including email communications
- Streamlined navigation: Menus and breadcrumb trails offer clearer wayfinding
- Accessible shopping experience: E-commerce platforms and event ticketing systems now announce order changes in real-time
What do we expect from customers?
As a customer, you are responsible for accessible content, such as:
- Alternative texts for images
- Proper heading structure in pages
- Understandable forms and texts (preferably B1 level)
- Accessible color palette ๐จ
We are happy to support in improving color contrasts, menus, and page structures of custom website templates. Please contact your consultant or account manager for this.
