Procurios: your data stored in the Benelux

All Procurios servers are located at True, a Dutch cloud provider in Amsterdam. No copies of your data are made that are stored outside Europe. This means that your member and donor data remains completely within the Netherlands and falls under Dutch legislation.

GDPR-compliant means that a company complies with European privacy rules, but says nothing about where your data is located. American companies can be GDPR-compliant and still store your data in the US. At Procurios, we combine GDPR compliance with actual storage in the Netherlands, without legal constructions like Standard Contractual Clauses. This gives you more certainty and predictability.

Not at Procurios without European legal process. We are an independent company with offices in the Netherlands and Belgium, without parent or sister companies outside Europe. The American CLOUD Act requires companies with an American parent company to transfer data to American authorities, even if that data is in Europe. Because Procurios is completely European and has no international corporate structure, access to your data is only possible through Dutch or Belgian legal channels.

No, but it requires conscious consideration. Ask yourself these questions:

How sensitive is your organization? Are you a political party, trade union or advocacy group dealing with sensitive topics? Then European data storage with an independent company is the safest choice. For a professional association, it depends on how confidential the information is that you exchange with your members.

Which data do you want to share? Contact details, contribution history and personal preferences of members are sensitive. You want those well protected. For less sensitive matters like newsletter subscriptions or public events, you can make different choices.

What's the business structure? A European data center of an American parent company doesn't solve the problem - the legal obligations remain. Therefore always ask: are there parent or sister companies outside Europe and how does data exchange work between them?

For core systems with sensitive member or donor data, conscious organizations often choose independent European providers. This provides legal clarity and predictability.
